I have been a little MIA from social media lately – my Facebook Page hasn’t been as updated as usual, Pinterest Page has been mainly used for food I plan on making and never do. Even my beloved Instagram account has been  a little slow. I have been trying to find balance between business, personal, and my bar tending job. It is harder than I thought it was going to be – with a job that I ADORE and wouldn’t change it one bit. Except, I would like to spend more time with my wonderful boyfriend and family. Oh, and maybe sleep! I have always been a night owl, and so not a morning person, and this summer I gave myself a schedule where I get up at a certain time and get my to do list done.

So this weekend me any my awesome assistant/boyfriend/love of my life are leaving one day early for one of my favorite clients weddings south of the Twin Cities. We are going to spend the day with my lovely sister and brother in law. I am excited to see new places, chat, and maybe get a donut or two! We are renting a car and leaving Thursday night after we are both done with work. I will not be returning emails or phone calls until Tuesday morning. I am excited to take a moment to relax for a day, and spend it with the ones I love. While photographing an amazing wedding with two amazing people! OH! And Sunday I get to take some commercial photographs for one of my favorite venues in Waupaca! Stay tuned for that! So as you can see, balance is hard for me – even when I plan a mini vacation I fill it with amazing shoots!

I am hoping you all have a safe and joyous 4th of July! Remember to thank those who serve – and remember how awesome this country really is – despite it’s faults. Take some amazing photos of your family, and catch some awesome ones of the fireworks! Memories go by so fast – capture them in time with a click of a button! And I will see you all Tuesday!

What they don't tell you about Wedding Photography No, I am not talking about the I had too much to drink kind of hangover ... I am talking about the I had too much fun dancing and photographing amazing people hangover. Wedding Day's are so much freaking fun, but they are also hard on one's brain, feet, and whole body. As a photographer, we sometimes don't get to sit down at all during the wedding except for a few minutes at dinner or during transportation from one place to the other. I am constantly thinking, evaluating and being as ninja as I can at every wedding. This is all why I try to not schedule meetings, early session, and back t ...

I am a gypsy at heart I swear - I LOVE traveling! Or it might be because of my parents - growing up in our family we went on vacation every summer. This was hard with my dad being a farmer, it wasn't always easy to get away. We went to a different state almost every year - the only states we didn't get to are : Maine, Texas, Alaska, and Hawaii. I have since gone to Alaska on a solo trip to work 150 miles North of Fairbanks - and 60 miles south of the Arctic Circle. While there I traveled to the top of the world, Barrow, Alaska. It was a great adventure! Sadly the only country I have made it to is Ireland - and I am sorry Canada does not count ...

Life is a Beautiful Disaster
"On particularly rough days when I am sure I can't possibly endure, i like to remind myself that my track record is getting through bad days so far is 100% .. and that's pretty good." -unknown When people ask me how my off season is going I joke and say, "What Off Season?" I was looking forward to the wedding season and the holiday season ending so I can catch up on my life. I was looking into diving into my "off season" goals of getting organized, cleaning the bomb of an apartment, and going on dates with my man. This has not happened yet - with a wild heart filled with ideas and dreams I have been non stop planning, designing and building ...
