Wausau Wisconsin Engagement Session in the Fall on Rib Mountain

Hillary and Nick were so awesome for waking up before the sun and meeting us at Rib Mountain State Park. Since Mother Nature had planned to sleep in, we got to talk in the car for a bit. We may not have had an amazing sunrise, but man the leaves made up for it! We’ve shot a lot in the Fall, but this was the trees were really showing off that day.

Hillary and Nick were super smiley throughout their session. This made our job super easy too! Also, I was in love with their style! They were the perfect match for the beautiful leaves!

Now how did these two meet and become planning a wedding? (as told by Hillary)

Nick and I met while we were both attending the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point, we both played college hockey there and I met him in March of his Freshmen year, we were best friends for 3 years and then started dating our senior year. I truly knew before I even kissed him the first time that I was going to marry him, he is truly my soulmate and I could never in a million years be with anyone but him.

They always say “when you know, you know” and that is the best way to describe it, he feels like home to me. Nick and I have been dating for three years, tomorrow is actually our anniversary but more than half of our relationship has been long distance. After he graduated from Stevens Point he left to go play semi-professional hockey in Evansville, IN and I stayed at home with my parents to start working. Nick also lives in Canada in the summer that is where he works.

We do not get to see each other very much, usually once a month for a weekend. Since we do not get to see each other every day I feel like we have so much more love that shows when we do get to see each other.
