Sunflowers in the midst of the hustle.

This past weekend was a doozy for Justin and I, for very different reasons. Justin was on a lake with his friends celebrating Summer with a few too many drinks and not enough sleep. While I was working the weekend away on some AMAZING things! Friday started off with a session at a beautiful Sunflower Field at Pope Farm Conservancy. Saturday I assisted a dear friend, Tara Draper of Tara Draper Photography at the Olbrich Gardens and Double Tree Hilton for a BEAUTIFUL wedding. Then Sunday I went to Lake Geneva to photograph a proposal along the lake. All of theses sessions and more will be coming to the blog in the coming weeks, I really cannot wait to share it all with you!

Sunday after we both got home, we both took a nap of course, then we went to Pope Farms to check out the Sunflowers once again. I really wanted Justin to see them, and take more photos of this beautiful field! We have never seen so many sunflowers in one place! I also don’t think I have seen so many photographers in one place. It’s like being in Seattle and seeing a Starbucks from another Starbucks. Of course I was looking out for photographers I knew. I did run into my friend Bobbi from Twig and Olive Photography A woman who rocks it at photography and also a lover of whiskey! My kind of gal!

Justin and I were dead tired and as relaxing as this was we couldn’t wait to get home. Sit down on the couch with a glass of wine or whiskey and relax together. Needless to say, that cocktail was delicious!

I also booked a small intimate wedding over looking Lake Michigan this coming Summer! Those are just the great things that happened in January - I can't wait to see the greatness that follows! February is going to be just as amazing! I have some m ...

Tree Adventure 2014
Isn't he a good looking man??? One of my favorite parts of the Holidays is getting the tree! Growing up we always went to the same place, Yeska Tree Farm near Wild Rose WI. So when it came time for Justin and I get a tree near us, we were lost. But when someone told us about a tree farm near Lake Du Bay, that didn't use harmful pesticides and didn't trim to make the "prefect" tree we were in! So for the 3rd year, 2nd year in a row we headed to Pheasant Pines in Mosinee. Justin always picks a tree that is close, but I always want to keep looking - so we end up getting a tree that is the farthest away. Justin is a trooper each time, being p ...

Rad Photographers Retreat Final Dinner designed by Elevate Events
When I contacted the ladies of Elevate Events about doing the styling of The Rad Photographers Retreat with me - they were just as excited about this new event as I was. They went above and beyond when it came to the planning - we went through some really great highs and some unfortunate lows. These ladies stuck through to the end with me - and I couldn't have asked for better planners or people to go through it with. The final dinner at The Rad Photographers Retreat was designed by the ever amazing Elevate Events Designs. These ladies took my ideas on a relaxed dinner by candle light and ran with it. Simple greens white candles and grey plat ...
