Shelby is an amazing photographer in Wausau Wisconsin – and I in awe of her talent and desire to become a photographer in her early 20’s. This girl is where I wish I was at her age. When I look at young entrepreneurs before the age of 25 I think – Why the hell didn’t I know what I wanted to be. I would have saved thousands on a college degree I knew I wouldn’t use as soon as I graduated. This girl on the other hand has a studio and goes to rad workshops to learn how to she can grow.
The wintertime here in Wisconsin is a dull time for photographers – or can be. We find ourselves not getting out as much to photograph, this winter I was HORRIBLE at taking photos. I felt like I was in a funk and I needed to get out of it. So I contacted Shelby to see if she would be up for fun photo session in the snow. We met in Stevens Point, drove around to two spots that I have never shot at before. The first spot was just outside an abandoned trailer, this trailer was kind of creepy with it’s no floors and dolls inside. But, the road in front of it has some dreamy light shinning through the bare trees. The last spot we went to we ran on the frozen river, making sure not to fall in the fishing holes that were scattered all over. Dancing in the sun is a must when it comes to sessions with me – and man did we dance it out!
When I first met her last year over a cup of coffee – she was a bright light in the mass market of photography. She is a beautiful soul and I cannot wait to see where her photography adventure takes her.
With Love – Christine
