Wedding Photographer with No Wedding? What?

Personal Wedding

I woke up this morning with a strange feeling, and it took me a while to remember I do not have a wedding to photograph today. This weekend is my first weekend without a wedding to photograph since May. I have photographed some amazing couples in the past few weeks – 8 amazing couples madly in love with each other. I am still working on editing a few of them while they are on their honeymoon adventures – Thailand, Europe, and Aruba! Like I said adventures!

This weekend is not without a little bit of wedding  bliss though – I get to travel to La Crosse to attend a dear friends reception that includes a ring ceremony. They eloped last year on-top of the bluffs in La Crosse, and now are sharing their love with their family and friends. I am so excited to see them, and celebrate with them and their closest people. Sunday is a personal shoot I have been planning for months – it’s had a few hiccups along the way, but I am so excited to put it all together and show you all.

The past few weeks have been a whirlwind – 8 amazing weddings to photograph in 8 amazing weeks! I am ready to enjoy the next few weeks catching up on editing, blogging, family, friends, and sleep. Owning your own business can be hectic, crazy, and just plain stressful. But you know what? I LOVE what I do, and the hard work, sweat and little sleep is soooo worth it! To see the smile on peoples faces when they see their photos, the love I get to capture at their weddings, the first birthday’s – man I love it! I cannot imagine doing anything else with my life!

Check out some of my favorite moments from the past few weeks! And stay tuned fro 3 more weddings to be blogged in the next few weeks!

There are a few weddings that keep a special place in my heart and Sara and Adam's is for sure one of them. The girls carried bouquets handmade by the bride, guys in classic grey. Bride made her own wedding cake, which was divine! Ceremony with heartfelt vows that really did make me cry, and they even said a vow together that filled my heart with so much joy. Adam and Sara were Chemistry Lab partners while attending University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. You could say they had "chemistry" right off the bat and "bonded" immediately. Cassie & Zack / Madison Wisconsin Barn Wedding
This year we had some crazy rainy Saturdays. Cassie and Zack had a humid rainy day. This didn't let it stop them from having an outdoor ceremony. All the guests had umbrellas, and cuddled together with blankets. These two love birds met online and connected with their common love of comic books and Transformers. Cassie has two cats named Optimus Prime and Mega Tron - how freaking awesome is that? They had their first date at Summerfest, and the rest is history. When they aren't busy traveling or camping they work hard at their jobs. Needless to say when they are together they make the moments count as much as they can, as they love being h ...

Life is a Beautiful Disaster
"On particularly rough days when I am sure I can't possibly endure, i like to remind myself that my track record is getting through bad days so far is 100% .. and that's pretty good." -unknown When people ask me how my off season is going I joke and say, "What Off Season?" I was looking forward to the wedding season and the holiday season ending so I can catch up on my life. I was looking into diving into my "off season" goals of getting organized, cleaning the bomb of an apartment, and going on dates with my man. This has not happened yet - with a wild heart filled with ideas and dreams I have been non stop planning, designing and building ...
