ASHLEY & ADAM | Park Elopement in Milwaukee WI

September 30, 2020

Elopement in a park near Milwaukee Wisconsin

As we all know COVID has made a lot of couples rethink their wedding day. Making a lot of couples move their wedding date to 2021. Ashley and Adam decided to split their wedding date. Along with keeping their original date! So they decided to have an intimate Milwaukee Elopement!

Ashley and Adam had this date in mind for a while, and when COVID came around and they thought about pushing their wedding date. They thought about it, had discussions with us, and decided to get married on the original date!

We freaking LOVE that they went with it, inviting just a handful of people and expressing their love in a park. A park just outside Milwaukee!

Their first look was when Ashley walked down the aisle. Adam had his back turned, and just as Ashley walked down the aisle with her Dad, he turned around. It was the sweetest thing! And I think more couples should do it! It is simply amazing!

They wanted to ensure their daughters were a part of the day. Instead of traditional unity ceremonies, they gave their daughters necklaces. After they received their necklaces, they were the ones to hand over the rings. So sweet right!?

After the ceremony we took a few photos, then the family celebrated with delicious food and drinks! A relaxing dinner just a short walk away!

I adore their proposal story so much!

We were sitting in our kitchen while I was frazzled doing something on the computer. He asked if I would go to a wedding with him. I said sure…who’s the wedding? He said ours. <3 I said “seriously?!? YES”

Ashley, what do you love most about Adam?

He’s fun. And always helps me focus on what’s truly important. And the beard…can’t forget the beard.

Adam, what do you love most about Ashley?

I can’t choose just one thing! (soooo sweet!)

What was the greatest challenge in planning your wedding?

Nothing and everything at the same time? It was SO informal that we were quite laissez-faire about most everything. Also knowing that we’re going bigger in May with our extended families and friends – we wanted this to be simple, low-key, and intimate which made a lot of the details easier.

What are/were you looking forward to most in your future together?

Spending that future together, whatever it holds.

What advice do you have for couples planning their wedding day?

Not the first to say this, I’m sure, but don’t forget that the day is about your relationship and your future – not about anyone else. Make sure each element is something that makes you happy for whatever reason, not something that causes stress, anxiety, or pressure.

How do you feel about working with Natural Intuition Photography?

We thoroughly enjoy the time that we spend with you guys. You make something that typically feels super unnatural for us seem totally easy, normal, and…natural. That comfort on both sides of the camera really shines through in the photos that we get!
