Couples need to see that they should have photos taken outside their engagement, wedding, anniversary and family events. The moments in between matter so much! Kelsey and Sean are newlyweds coming on their first anniversary, we wanted a session to document this time in their lives. Their love of Summer and their love for each other. Devil’s Lake State Park is perfect for this kind of session!
We started their session just outside the park in some tall grass, then moved to the lake. They stripped down to their suits to dive into the water. These images are both something that their children will cherish – along with themselves. These images showcase a love that is bigger than all of us. A love that can be felt by them, but now can be shared.
Sessions in and near water are our favorite sessions to photograph! They add a sense of calm and one of the most beautiful backdrops ever! We stayed in one spot as to add a challenge for us to create without using different backdrops. The water was our backdrop! These two needed very little direction as we just photographed them being them.
We also asked these two 2 questions:
Favorite thing so far about being married?
Our favorite thing about being married is knowing that no matter what it is we’re doing, we’re doing it together. We are each other’s best friend and being able to do life with your best friend is such a blessing and something we are unbelievably grateful for.
What do you want to remember about your relationship right now in 20 years?
We want to remember being first married and talking about our future together. Reminiscing with our parents about when they were soon-to-be grand-parents. Telling our kids stories of buying our first home together.
What don’t we want to remember? 🙂
These are the photos that future generations will be talking about. This is why it’s important to photograph each other in the middle of the milestones.
