We are Christine & Justin!
Wisconsin Elopement Photographers who believe your wedding day & photographs should be filled with your personalities!
First, you must know that I LOVE that they went with their outdoor wedding even though it was a super chilly day! One of the first chilly fall days we had here in Wisconsin. Kimberly had a vision for their day, and they went with it! I LOVE when couples go with it!
Now, on to how amazing this wedding was! These two involved their families in the day so much. Another thing that we love that couples do! Two amazing speeches during the ceremony, Kimberly’s mom pinned everyone, and their dearest friends walked down the aisle with them! It was a classic fall wedding with marroon florals, a ton of greenery and grey suits for the gentleman. The ladies were in navy dresses and carried amazing florals! The bride wore a stunning lace dress that we just couldn’t get enough of, either could she! You should have seen Kyle’s reaction in person – so much love, joy and admiration for his bride.
We met unexpectedly on spring break in Florida in 2010. We were neighbors in a condo where our groups of friends hung out together. We text all the way home on our rides back from spring break. We planned that our first visit would be Oktoberfest in La Crosse, Wisconsin which was approximately six months away. Kyle ended up visiting Kim within the month and the seven hour long distance relationship was established.
We alternated between long-distance and living together throughout the next 6 1/2 years going from 7 hours apart to 4 hours to 1 1/2 hours to half an hour than living together and back to 3 1/2 hours long distance, then 4 hours and finally living in the same city in 2015. We moved in together in July 2016 and coincidentally got engaged in September 2017 at Oktoberfest in La Crosse Wisconsin, which was originally going to be our first visit post spring break. The rest is history 🙂
I love his kind and caring nature. He is the calm to my chaos. Not to mention those blue eyes 🙂
I love that she’s fun, honest, loving, family – oriented. She makes me the best version of myself.
Watching the Packers win and the Bears lose. JK – hahaha. Oh gosh – sitting together on the couch with a warm cup of fresh brewed coffee to start the day. Taking a walk together with our pup, Opie. We rarely get to lay around and just enjoy each other’s company so it would then follow with lounging around together, watching our favorite shows and movies with a glass of wine and homemade dinner in sweatpants/sweatshirts!
Kyle says seeing Kim walking down the aisle and seeing his mother cry. Kim says preparing to walk down the aisle and sitting at the head table and just seeing all of our favorite people sitting in one room. celebrating our love. What a feeling. <3
Kyle: Painting our centerpieces on the deck with our friends – feet in a kiddie pool to keep us cool and a beverage in hand.
Kim: Shopping for a wedding dress with my mother and best friend. And also painting centerpieces with our friends 🙂
Honestly, it all flew by in the blink of an eye! We wish we could extend those days for another week or 2 just so we could take it all in and spend enough time with each and every person that came to celebrate us.
Descriptors on how we felt the day before the wedding: stressed, excited, tired. Descriptors on how we felt on our wedding day: nervous, beautiful and handsome, overwhelmed by the love, HAPPY, shocked at how fast the day went, so so so blessed.
Descriptors for the first day as Mr. and Mrs: thankful and grateful, loved, still overwhelmed, feeling the post wedding sadness. FEELING MARRIED! 🙂
Oh gosh, this is a tough one! We had so many things go wrong that it ended up becoming comical by the time the wedding rolled around. We did learn a lot though!
I would say some of the greatest challenges of planning a wedding is finding how to create the wedding that you want and the wedding that your parents want. Sometimes those views can be very different. I was least prepared for all the things that went wrong – vendors cancelling orders for our centerpieces, finding out our DJ double booked 1 week prior to the wedding, my makeup artist cancelling, my bouquet not being delivered on the day of the wedding and the list goes on!
But, in the end, everything was beautiful and we were able to celebrate the best day of our lives with the people we love!
Kim: I attached a small picture frame of my father to my wedding bouquet. Kyle also was sweet enough to make a picture frame dedicated to my father. We also had a contest with a trophy for best grand entrance to really up the ante!
Kyle: I gave all my groomsmen caricature mugs that they used for drinks throughout the night. I also gave each one a flask, which were used frequently throughout the night – even the bridesmaids participated!
We did not write our own vows, but we did write letters/gifts to each other, which were delivered prior to the First Look. Here are some words from Kyle which were written on a wooden plaque:
“I know it is normal to experience cold feet on your wedding day, but I can’t wait to start our new journey. The emotions I felt when I proposed won’t compare to how I feel in a few hours when I’m holding your hands, taking in how beautiful you are, inside and out. Your dad is upstairs smiling today seeing how beautiful you are. Let’s have a blast tonight on the first night of the rest of our lives.”
Purchasing our first house and raising a family in it. We also look forward to traveling the world together 1 city and country at a time.
When you think you’re ahead of the game, you probably aren’t! I began planning my wedding almost 2 years prior and still had difficulties with finding a location for rehearsal dinner and securing a makeup artist that I was comfortable with.
Plan your makeup/hair trials early so that if you don’t mesh, you can find someone else before all other stylists/artists are booked. I would also recommend a wedding planner to take care of all the little stressors when everything seems to be going wrong.
We have really enjoyed working with Christine and Justin! They were truly clutch on our wedding day – they worked hard to keep the atmosphere calm and keep us as least stressed as possible.
They did a great job keeping us on track and taking some of the responsibility off our backs. Justin even helped all the groomsmen tie their ties!
