When I first met Luke at a McDonald’s in Antigo Wisconsin – and Skyped with Betsy while she was in Minnesota : I instantly knew they were kind hearted happily in love with each other. They met online on a dating site – and some might be skeptical about these but this couple and my sister are living proof they really work! I finally met Betsy in person at their engagement session in Wausau Wisconsin – and loved her bright happy personality. I just knew each time I talked with them that they were just meant for one another. They are both have kind and beautiful souls – that traveled miles and hours in a car to see each other. They didn’t let the fact they were a state and hundreds of miles away get in the way of the fact they love on another.
Their engagement session was filled with so many laughs, hugs, and smiles all around. We had so much fun, and it is still one of my favorite couples sessions to date! Their wedding day was no different – they were surrounded by their closest loved ones and friends! Everyone was so inviting, and we all joked, danced and made silly faces. The Oak Ridge Coference Center was a surprisingly beautiful hotel with beautiful grounds! From the front it looks like any old conference center, but once you walk inside you are welcomed by a beautiful lob with a gas fireplace and great employees. The ballroom located right below had a wall of beautiful tall windows that natural beautiful light poured in – the grounds where the ceremony and cocktail our was was perfectly tree covered. It was a perfect setting for their wedding – and first dance photos were perfect with that natural light pouring in!
This blog post is filled with photos – but it was seriously hard to narrow down what to share with you. There were so many moments during this wedding that I felt lucky to be able to photograph and experience.
Luke and Betsy’s Wedding Party was AWESOME! Their individual shots are my favorite of all time!
See isn’t this venue beautiful !?
Instead of clinking glasses and they kiss – they had a jar filled with couples names that each time someone clanked that glasses they picked some names out of the jar. The couple had to kiss first than Luke and Betsy kissed – and may I say these were some great kisses!
Her dad’s speech and father daughter dance mad me cry – I am pretty sure their wasn’t a dry eye in the place either time.
This is one of my most powerful father / daughter dance photos I have ever seen – it was taken by my awesome assistant Justin. This whole dance I seriously balled by eyes out! You could just see the love this man had for his daughter!
This was a wedding that if I didn’t have to drive 4+ hours to drive home I would have stayed after and danced with them! They were some great dancers, and they knew how to party for sure!
Thank you so much for honor Luke and Betsy for sharing your special day with us! It was a day I will remember for a lifetime – and I wish you many many years of happiness together!
