Dear Justin

Lifestyle Personal Wedding

Madison Wisconsin Photographer - emily schmidt photographyDear Justin,

We are celebrating our 7th year together – SEVEN YEARS! Where the heck did the time go?

We met while working at Hilltop – you a line cook and me a waitress. Our first conversation was about strip clubs (I have never been to one), we are not sure why this was  a discussion but it was the first time we talked. When I first saw you I thought you were a very cute boy, but with me getting out of a horrible relationship I was shy to starting something new.  I asked me friend Sara to get your number, and texted you one night making you guess who I was. Haha this still makes  me giggle 🙂 I met you out in downtown Stevens Point, I may have had a few too many drinks but we had a blast! You were a total gentleman and took me home – all the way to Scandinavia!

After a few weeks dating I finally wanted to make it official – it was a breath of fresh air dating someone for a change. Before you came along I would jump into relationships without getting to know the person first, from past relationships I found this is a HORRIBLE idea. I was thankful for your patience and kindness. You listened to my past and didn’t run away, you let me cry on your shoulder when I was terrified you’d run. We started out our relationship un-perfect, and to this day it is a perfect mess.

The past 7 years have been filled with so many great memories – we traveled to California our first year together to visit one of your best friends, where you showed me around 2 Marine bases. You helped me build a business that I can now do full time. My favorites are all the camping and road trips we have taken – rarely having a plan and enjoying every minute of it. You have seen me at my worst and at my best – you have loved me unconditionally. I don’t know how I got so lucky to have a kind man like you – but I am so happy that a conversations over strippers brought us together!

I cannot wait to see where the next 50 years brings us & thank you for making me smile everyday!

With all my love,

The Grand Canyon / Adventure is Our Middle Name
Justin and I extended our Las Vegas working trip a few days to head out into the desert and see the Grand Canyon. While in Las Vegas, I actually didn't take that many photos of the strip, they were a few from the wedding day, and most were on my phone. We took a load of photos of a beautiful sunset we randomly stopped to watch. And of course we tested our limits out on the rocks at the Grand Canyon, where afterwards we found out someone fell the week before. Scary huh? Well, I was scared some of the time, but I am not as bold as Justin is. Justin would climb on rocks, walk out to the way edge, while I sat by and sweat. There was only one time ...

Fall Family Session in Scandinavia Wisconsin / Rynish Family
I have photographed my sisters family for five years now, and almost every year it has been in the same location! This location is less than two miles away from their house. It has a barn, a field filled with wild grass and flowers, a trail, a lake, and now pine trees. This place has SO many options available for photos and always the best light, no matter if there is no sun out. This was the first session in this location that the sun was not shining, but it was still a fun filled and amazing session! My sisters family is always my favorite session because it is a session that I try new things, and experiment. It also doesn't have a time ...
Beilfuss Family / Fall Family Session in Pine River Wisconsin
I met this fun family at their home in Pine River Wisconsin - a tiny town that I have not been to since High School! Driving to their home sure did bring back some memories! As I drove down their driveway, I felt like I was driving up to a retreat! It was so relaxing feeling, there was a pond, chickens and a beautiful log home! The Beilfuss family was so welcoming, we got along right away, chatted while we walked about their pond, and they were troopers getting into the tall grass! Meet the Beilfuss Family! It was a great day to hang out with this family - comment below and let them know how great they looked! If they get 15 blo ...
