Our Madison Life

This time of year we are crazy busy, with editing, blogging, meetings, and life. There are moments we don’t leave out house unless we HAVE to. But, sometimes I get so tired of being at home I HATE to leave the house. The weather this week has been pretty perfect so we left the house to enjoy a pitcher of beer while we watched the sunset.

The real reason why we went down to the terrace is that we have a marketing session coming up with a realtor. We wanted to keep it casual, professional and by the water. So I immediately thought of the terrace to start inside and end by the water. So we scoped out the locations before getting that pitcher of beer.

While sitting there watching the people, dogs playing and the ripples in the water – I made a promise/goal to myself. I want to watch as many sunsets as possible just like that night. I don’t want to spend every night behind the computer or sitting on the couch. Summer goes by so fast, I don’t want to waste it. I have worked really hard on getting my workflow down that I am actually working to live, rather than living to work. (I think I got that right!)

Work smarter not harder

Yes, it took me nearly 8 years to get my workflow down to keep my sanity. I now have time on my hands I am unsure of what to do with it. I am planning new projects, relaxing more and just having more time to create for me. Photography started as a passion and became more of a job for a while. I am working my way back to fully loving what I do – so I can better serve my clients.I mean we live in a beautiful city, with so many amazing things to do, see and eat! And the water calms me – so sitting by the water watching the sunset as much as possible is good for the soul.

Cheers to a life lived well.
