The day Before Wedding Portraits at Governor Dodge State Park
Whenever we get an email from a couple that we are already booked, first our heart breaks. But, then we kindly ask if they can change their date. Most cannot as they have their venue already booked, or plans have already been made for a certain date. But, the next best thing is a session the day before your wedding, with your dream photographer!
Rosie and Lucas were having an intimate wedding at a mini waterfall at Governor Dodge State Park. Sadly we were booked for that date, but they opted for a session the day before in their wedding attire! We even did all their family photos!
YES THIS IS TOTALLY AN OPTION PEOPLE!
We met them at their ceremony location for some photos, then went for a short hike. We laughed a ton along the way, especially when I was carrying their bag like a turtle shell! (see photo below)
Rosie was even willing to take her shoes off for a photo! Yes, she took off her cute shoes, walked through a little bit of water and stood in some mud! We all loved this rock wall covered in moss, and we all just needed to capture it! This session was worth the sweat, the dirty shoes, and the ticks some of us got. True Wisconsin session right there!
Lucas and Rosie’s Proposal Story:
We were in California visiting Luke’s parents this past January and it happened to be my birthday. We had retired to his childhood bedroom for the night, and he was rummaging in his luggage saying that he had one more present for me…I knew it was a ring.
